News Webinar: Disability-inclusive disaster response in Bangladesh

Disasters are on the rise and Bangladesh is a country often affected by natural and man-made disasters. These have a huge impact on lives, livelihoods and infrastructure. Persons with disabilities are often overlooked throughout the disaster management cycle and especially during response and relief operations.

The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) – ratified by the GoB – however requires that persons with disabilities, adults and children/youth, benefit from, and participate in disaster relief, emergency response and disaster risk reduction strategies.

In the webinar we will discuss how disasters like the Corona crisis impact the life of children / youth with disabilities and how children generally are affected by disasters.
